A celebration of local and national history enacted, by local people, for the pleasure of the thousands that witness anyone of the 17 performances, a contingent of the Waggoners now included.

True to form, none of us after seeing the performance would have disputed one word of the show's web page headlines. You paid your money you got what was on the ticket. An area set aside on the outskirts of Darlington called "Eleven Arches" in which has been built a vast complex, not just to cater for the 1000's who pay to attend, but also for the 1000's who perform for each of the 17 shows, their clothes, their props and all of the supporting menagerie. Facilities for the paying public was excellent, food of various options available, toilets, with for once more for the ladies than the gents, not set out on grass but all on specially treated surfaces, the second you alight from the shuttle bus that's brought you from your designated carpark. A seating area that would do some football clubs proud. Some set up. The only slight disapointment, exiting the carpark, which could only be described as a free for all. Sad to spoil the evening in such a manner.
