Above: Just a few views of Sirmione standing as it does on a penisular at the Southern end of Lake Garda. Scaliger Castle is featured in most of the pictures. This fortification, surrounded by water, was built near the end of the 12th century as part of a defensive network surrounding Verona. Sirmione remains one of the most popular sights on the lake and understandably so.
