An oppurtune visit with Jacob, to this National Trust property. As Jacob went to pay for himself, the lady at reception asked if we would he be interested in becoming a member for £10, which Jacob initially hesitated, but at which I jumped at the opportunity, offerring to pay, on his, and, at the same time Ben's behalf. Its a new membership scheme and, as yet un-publicised, aimed at encouraging younger people to be involved. It will run for a year and then there will be a reduced rate to encourage the youngsters to continue. In the case of Jacob & Ben we will continue payments for them. It's advantageous to Pam & I as we often visit Trust properties when we are on holidays with the boys, so should easilly recoup the yearly membership fee. Once paid up we made our way to the house and enjoyed, once inside, yet another gem of a property. You would think that after a while the properties would begin to look much of a likeness, but thankfully this is, as yet, not been the case. Fellbrigg, originaly built in the 17th Century, for the family of that name, is now a grade 1 listed property, with extensive grounds. It was bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by the then owner Robert keeton-Cremer.
