I suppose I have always had a liking for walking, especially with the Peak District so close to home. I, along with fellow walkers, Jan and Geoff Anthony, can proudly claim to have mastered two great Uk walks, "The Coast to Coast" and "The West Island Way". Two great achievements, two fantastic memories. Recently I have found that walking is not as easy a task as it once was, old age I suppose. I've tried walking with groups, but not enjoyed the need to mix the pace of the walk, to the various attendees. Equally I can not see the fun in going on a walk, trying to enjoy the peaceful surroundings , with people constantly yacking! Thankfully, I have a kindred spirit in our youngest grandson Ben, who loves to walk and climb, and who has accompanied his grandad on some great walks in Derbyshire. Above: Picture of Ladybower dam, taken as Ben and I were just about to start our walk up to the top of Win Hill.
