International N Gauge Show

The International N Gauge Show 2019 - September Our first but hopefully not our last visit to this exhibition catering entirely for the N Gauge railway modellers, although Sir Richard of New Junction OO gauge fame was in attendance. Sir Richard, for the uninitiated, is the creative force behind the YouTube phenomena, in model railway circles, which is 'New Junction'. Sir Richard kindly agreed to have is picture taken with a very much overwhelmed Ben to be in the presence of such a notoriety. Back to the exhibition, which was in our eyes an absolute success and well worth the journey out to Warwickshire. Many very creative layouts on display, including 'Dentdale' and the chance for another look at the very impressive 'James Street' which, we last saw earlier in the year at Quorn, just to name two. Looking at other peoples and clubs displays always give you trillions of ideas which you hope one day to incorporate into our very own ShirleyShire Junction layout. In addition to the layouts, the best names in the supply of N gauge trains, rolling stock and supplies were also in attendance. Oh, to have lots of money, but then like money being limited so is the space, in the Signal Box, that is, that we are working in.

Ben with Sir Richard, as we have now dubbed him. Caught him in the cafe area with two of his friends but still happy to have a photo taken.

The viaducts of Dentdale. A large front only display, not overly featured, apart that is from the two magnificent viaducts. A joy to look at and take in the skill that as gone into making this layout.

The above yet more pictures of James Street. A truly amazing layout with so much to look at. A layout in stark contrast to Dentdale but nevertheless awesome in it's construction, track detail, buildings and content. I just can not get enough of this layout. I don't want to know the ins and outs of its electrics, which must be mighty complex, I just enjoy myself following trains seeing the routes they take and being able to immerse myself in the fantastic detail.
