Beaumaris Castle

Quoted as being perfection - a textbook model of a castle. UNESCO considers Beaumaris to be one of "the finest examples of late 13th century and early 14th century military architecture in Europe", and it is classed as a World Heritage site. The biggest pity is that it was never fully completed by Edward 1 as he ran out of money and through other pressures on his stretched resources. Despite not being completed it is still a wonderful example of a castle, with its moat, its original access to the sea for provisions and the sea as an additional part of the castles defences. A castle built within its own defensive perimeter walls

We had a walk around Beaumaris, which didn't take long as the town only consisted of one main road. We did sit on the wall at the edge of the estuary, where Ben took a number of atmospheric pictures of the waters edge and a video of said moving water, as shown below.
